GENERAL

Q: How does DoubleDateFirst work?
A: You and a friend join up, create a joint profile together, then go online...you can then both start winking, messaging and dating other Double Date pairs.

Q: How many different friends can I appear with?
A: There is no limit to the number of friends you can appear with, but for each friend you pair up with a separate membership and profile must be created. Please note that you will need a different email address for each membership you create.

Q: How do we search for other Members?
A: Search - Choose which gender you"re looking for, then an age group, and then press the search button.
Members Online - Search through all members currently online
Member Search - If you know all or part of a pair"s name (min4. Characters) type it into the Member Search box and we"ll try and find them for you.

Q: What are "Winks"?
A: Winks are a way for members to break the ice and let you know that they like your profile. Every time someone Winks at you you"ll both automatically receive a message to notify you of their interest.

Q: How do we "Wink" at other members?
A: Once your Profile has been approved, you can wink at members you like by clicking the "wink at them" button on their profile page.

Q: What is "Instant Chat"?
A: Instant Chat is real time, instant messaging. This means you can send and receive messages from other online members almost instantly.

Q: What are "Our Favourites"?
A: "Our Favourites" is where you store the Profiles of other members that you find interesting and want to know more about. Add by clicking on "Add to Favs" on their Profile page.

Q: "Stuck For Words", what is this?
A: Some hints on starting or replying to messages and Date night conversation starters.

Q: "Direct link to Our Profile", what is this?
A: Share the fun or play cupid. Send the link from your "Our Account" page via email or text, and the recipient will be able to view your profile page, although further access to the site is restricted unless they become a member. Alternatively, go to another pairs profile page and click the "Send to a Friend" button, enter a friends email address and send the profile on for your friends to check out. Again, further access to the site will be restricted unless they become a member.

Q: Is our privacy respected?
A: Yes, DoubleDateFirst will never disclose your personal contact details for any purpose without your permission. For full details, please review our Privacy Statement.

Q: Is Content censored?
A: DoubleDateFirst reserves the right to delete unacceptable Profiles. For full details, please read "Acceptable Use" in our Terms and Conditions.

LOGIN

Q: I have forgotten the login details. What do I do?
A: Just click on "Forgotten your login details?" on the Home Page, complete the short form and we will email the details to you.

Q: I am unable to login, what is wrong?
A: Your browser must allow cookies. If you have tried everything and still can"t login it probably means that your browser cookies are disabled or not set correctly. If you do not know how to reset Cookies, then try another browser or download a newer version of your browser. Further information about deleting or controlling cookies is available at www.allaboutcookies.org.

MEMBERSHIP

Q: How does Friend A cancel the Membership?
A: Go to "Our Account" and click on "Delete Account".

Q: How does Friend B leave the Membership?
A: By going to "Our Account" page and clicking the "Withdraw from Membership" button. Please note that once you have been removed your profile will automatically be deleted.

Q: Friend A has cancelled the Membership but I have another friend who is interested in forming a new pair, what do I do?
A: If Friend A has cancelled then the Membership is void. You will need to register under a new membership with a new friend.

Q: Friend B has withdrawn from the membership. How do I keep the membership valid?
A: Just add a new friend B as soon as possible and we will keep the membership valid for as long as we can (profiles that have only one friend for a prolonged period of time may be cancelled without notice).

Q: How can Friend A post or amend comments about Friend B?
A: Go to "Our Account" and then the "Edit Profile" page. Add or amend your comments and click update.

Q: How can Friend B post or amend comments about Friend A?
A: Go to "Our Account" and then the "Edit Profile" page. Add or amend your comments and click update.

CHANGING DETAILS

Q: Can we change our Joint Login name?
A: No. The Joint Login cannot be changed but you can delete your account by clicking "Delete Account" on the "Our Account" page. You will then have to re-register using your new Joint Login name. Deleted accounts are not recoverable.

Q: Can Passwords be changed?
A: Yes. Login and go to "Our Account" and click "Change Password" and follow the easy steps.

Q: Can I change my email address?
A: Yes. Go to "Our Account", click "Edit Profile" and change your email address. Then click "Update".

PROFILE

Q: Why must we set up a profile?
A: The website can be searched without setting up a Profile through the "Public Search" link. However, to communicate with other Users of the Website and/or the Services, you and your friend must set up a Joint Profile.

Q: How do we create our profile?
A: Click "Join now, it"s all Free" on the Home Page and this will take you to the Registration Page where you can create your profile, which should only take a few minutes. Think of your Profile as a synopsis of you, your lifestyle and what you are looking for.

Q: How long will it take for our Profile to be approved?
A: Activating a joint Profile is normally done within 48 hours as our team must read the Profile to maintain the quality and integrity of DoubleDateFirst. Please note that we will not begin to review profiles until both friends have completed their part of the profile and uploaded at least one photo each.

Q: How do we update our Profile?
A: Go to "Our Account" and click "Edit Profile". When you have made the necessary change(s) click "Update".

Q: Can we hide our Profile from public view?
A: No. But you can block other Members, which means that they cannot communicate with you or view your profile.

Q: How do we block/unblock Members?
A: Click "Block" on their Profile page. To unblock, go to your "Blocked List" page, click the tick box on their picture profile and press "Unblock". Alternatively, go to their profile page and click "Unblock".

PHOTOS

Q: How do we add a photos to our Profile?
A:
  • Go to "Our Account"
  • Click "Upload Photo"
  • Click the "Choose File" button. This will open a new window on your screen.
  • Find your photo (You may be able to see it already, but if not click on the folder you think it downloaded to; "Desktop" or "My Pictures" for example).
  • Once you"ve found your photo, click on it once and then press the "Choose" or "Open" button (Usually located on the bottom right of the window). This will take you back to the "Upload Photo" page.
  • Press the "Upload" button. Your photo is now uploaded and can take up to 48 hours for us to approve.
  • You can now press the "Choose File" button to add another photo, or continue browsing the site by clicking on one of the buttons at the top of the page.

Q: What are the requirements for adding a photo?
A: The photo must be no bigger than 100kb and saved in jpeg format (NOTE: SAVING photos in JPG format:?Open your photo in any image application, such as Paint or Photoshop, then from the FILE menu select SAVE AS and you will see the choices of possible formats, select JPG. Once it is saved upload onto your profile. DoubleDateFirst has guidelines for photos and photos are checked to ensure they meet these guidelines. These are:
ACCEPTABLE
  • Portrait-style
  • A photo where your face is in focus, the camera angle is right and the image sharp
  • Look friendly
  • Recognisable, no sunglasses, hats or disguises
  • A neutral background
UNACCEPTABLE
  • A passport photo
  • A party photo
  • Photos with more than one person
  • Sexual or offensive imagery
  • Children
  • Personal information e.g. telephone no, email address, etc


Q: Are photos automatically shown on our Profile?
A: No. All photos are checked and approved before being uploaded. If you change your primary photo it will also be checked and approved before a new photo is uploaded during which time Membership may be suspended. Photos are normally checked within 48 hours of upload but may take longer at times of high demand or due to technical problems beyond DoubleDateFirst control. You will be notified by email if a photo does not meet with our guidelines.

Q: How do I transfer my photo from my mobile, PDA or digital camera?
A: Email your photo from your mobile or PDA to your email account, then once at a computer, download photo onto your desktop and go to my "My Account" and "Upload Photo". You can transfer photos to your computer by using a data cable, Bluetooth dongle or memory card reader and then upload to "My Account".

COMMUNICATING

Q: How do we send emails to other members?
A: Click on a Members profile and type your message in the "Send an Email" box and click the "Send" button. Emails can also be sent from the "Mailbox Reply" or "Compose" page.

Q: How do we reply to emails from other Members?
A: You can reply via the DoubleDateFirst mailbox or use the "Send an Email" on the Profile page of that Member.

Q: Where can we find emails received from other Members?
A: Emails are sent to your DoubleDateFirst mailbox. Go to "Mail" and then "Inbox" to retrieve them. You will also receive an email to your external email address informing you that you have a message.

Q: How do I use the Mail Filter?
A: To view all messages sent from one pair, click on the filter symbol next to anyone of the messages that they"ve sent
e.g. click the filter symbol next to CityChicks if you wish to see all messages from CityChicks only.

Q: Can we save our messages?
A: Messages sent through DoubleDateFirst are kept in the "Mailbox Sent" folder for 2 days. You can save up to 200 messages in the "Saved" folder of the "Mailbox".

REPORT A CONCERN

Q: What should we do if we are being harassed?
A: Block the offending members immediately by clicking "Block" on the Profile page of the relevant members. Do not reply or post any comments. Forward the message(s) by copying and pasting to support@DoubleDateFirst.com. The email should show the message and To, From, Date and Time.

Q: What do we do if our photos are being used in another Profile?
A: Ask for your pictures to be removed. If they are not removed contact support@DoubleDateFirst.com with a brief description include your Joint Login name and account email address together with the Team name of the offending members.

Q: How do we report SPAM?
A: Go to "Contact Us" (link at bottom of every page) and click on the Report SPAM button. Please send us a copy of the message and the Team name of who sent it.

Q: What should we do if someone is using my password and has taken over the account?
A: If you suspect your account has been compromised contact support@DoubleDateFirst.com.

Q: We have received an email asking for personal information - is this genuine?
A: DO NOT REPLY. DoubleDateFirst will never email you asking for any personal or login information.

BUGS

Q: Why is the website slow sometimes?
A: It may be that DoubleDateFirst is experiencing technical difficulties. Your connection may be the cause: double click your modem setting or connection speed to make sure you are connected at the highest possible connection rate. The Internet itself may be experiencing high volume usage.
